Outdoor recreation in Yucaipa centers on three major facilities, each operated by a different steward. Yucaipa Regional Park, managed by San Bernardino County Parks, sits at 33900 Oak Glen Road and has drawn families and visitors for decades with three lakes, a sandy-beach swimming lagoon with water slides, hiking trails, disc golf, and camping. The park stocks its lakes with trout from November through April and catfish May through September. Forty-two campsites with full hookup service are available through the county park reservations system.
Wildwood Canyon State Park, formally designated a California State Park in December 2025, protects 855 acres of the original San Bernardino foothills ecosystem. The preserve offers day-use hiking and horseback riding trails through oak woodland, grassland and chaparral, with parking for up to 100 vehicles and 60 equestrian trailers. Higher in the mountains, the Oak Glen Preserve—operated by the Wildlands Conservancy and set at 5,024 feet—provides 909 acres of free access including guided nature trails through diverse plant communities and the historic Los Rios Rancho Apple Farm, which has operated its orchards for over 114 years.
